After several years of ignoring my business website, I decided it was time to do a makeover. I spoke with a graphic designer I really like to get an idea of how much it would cost for him to redesign my site, and he said that he almost never is able to do a design for less than $1,000. Then I would have to hire someone to do the coding, which would probably be another $500.

So I decided that if I was going to spend that much money, I had better first go through my site and add some content and update everything I had there. But as I started to try to lay out a site map, I realized that I was having a hard time visualizing how everything would connect - especially new pages that I wanted to enter. So I decided to download a trial version of web design software made for Macs - Rapidweaver. And as I started using it, I realized that I could probably just go ahead and design my website on my own and then have someone tweak the things I couldn't figure out on my own by watching tutorials on the internet. I found an internet coupon for it and was able to purchase it for $43.79. Since there are hundreds of inexpensive templates for Rapidweaver in addition to the ones that come with it, I did some surfing and chose the one I am using for $12.95 - just to be a little different and because I liked its style.
